The Christmas Party is just around the corner and so far we have about 21 commitments and this includes some husbands. We have a list started so think about what your bringing.  Vegetable, Salad or Dessert.  Call or E-mail Jan or Lynda to sign up for the party and give your food dish. Remember-EVERYONE gets a door prize. If you want to be in the gift exchange bring a gift in the $10 to $15 range. If you would like, and we do need donations, bring a gift for the Chinese auction. We, the officers, have really been working hard on a big Christmas party. We are spending the club money on you so be there.

Parking: As a trial, we asked for our members to leave the first 3 spaces available for Ways and Means, Hospitality and for our members who need to be a little closer to the door.

Our tree for the Citrus Pilots Club Festival of Trees is almost ready. We have a few bears out still (9) and a few candy canes.  Carole Dombrosky made the tree skirt and Jan Bittner painted the tree topper.  OF course all of us participated in the ornament painting!  What a fun job!

I know this is not enough detail on everything but we will get everything out to everyone in due time.

Check out the website it is awesome!

Take a break and stop to paint!

Current newsletter web page format

Minutes - Oct.11, 2008

The meeting was called to order by President Lynda Goodman @ 9:50 a.m.
She welcomed our visitor Carole and one new member Bea Ward. We are asking that the first three parking places be made available to the teacher of that month, the ways & means chair & whoever is bringing breakfast. These gals have a lot to carry. Please do not block the driveway as there is a lot of parking spaces.

Newsletter - a newsletter was not sent out for this month as Jeanne did not get enough to publish and most information was posted on the website.
Send painting tips or recipes to be put into the newsletter along with any information of interest to our painting group. Deadline is the 25th of the month. Jan Bittner made a motion that the newsletter be published every month. Seconded by Eileen Lawwill. Carried.

Library - Allie will post a list of CD’s, etc., on the website. These are only $.00 a month & well worth the price. Check it out!

Foster Program - Virginia Hughes is accepting $3.00 for this program. We will fill 8 - 10 baskets for Foster Parents. Any donations of small items are accepted. We have requested the Foster Child we do for at Xmas be a 3 - 4 year old girl.

Publicity - All OK. Have great coverage in the media.

Web Site - Pat Otto. Members are enjoying this.

New Address Books - Jan Bittner
A new address book will be distributed in January. Please have changes made and forward all information to V.P Membership, Jan Bittner. We would like to have the new address book available in the beginning of January 2009.

A great hint from Carol Dombrowski who sent the following:

I have to credit David Jansen for this one. I think it’s a keeper. This is especially helpful for detailed patterns.

1. Tape your traced pattern to your piece.
2. Separately tape an additional blank piece of tracing paper over this traced pattern.
3. Put your carbon or chaco paper under your traced pattern as usual.
4. Now for the good part: Use a ballpoint pen to trace your pattern (rather than a stylus) onto the blank top piece of tracing paper. This allows you to see exactly what lines you’ve already traced on your piece. (No peeking under your tracing to see what you’ve missed.)
5. When done tracing just remove the carbon paper and your original traced pattern. Then fold back the top piece, which can then be used to cover and protect your painting between sessions.
