Meeting Minutes:
The meeting was called to order at 9:30 A.M. by First Vice President,
Bea Peterson in place of Lynda, who is waiting for a baby to arrive.
First VP - Programs
Bea reported that members need to sign up for Darla Willhite as she
needs to get the packets and paints ready. The seminar is $30 which
includes paints and paper. It was reminded that when you sign up you are
obligated to pay. There was a discussion on paper and frame size. Bea
gave a listing of future programs and asked members to think of
teaching. There was a vote to have Pat Lentine booked for March 2010,
and to have Sandy Aubuchon in February 2010. Both votes passed.
Second VP - Membership
Jan reported the membership books were mailed to those present who did
not have email.
Secretary - Pat reported there were no meeting minutes in
February due to the seminar.
Treasurer - Jan gave the report and submitted it to the
newsletter for publication. It was noted that we made money on the Sandy
Aubuchon seminar which is not usually the case.
Hospitality - volunteers are needed to bring items for the April
meeting.
Ways & Means - There was discussion on a book sale. The
particulars are still being worked out. Raffle took in $57.00.
Sunshine - Five cards were sent out. Let Carole know if anyone is
sick.
Publicity - All info went to papers.
Philanthropic - A three dollar donation is requested from each
member to fill baskets for Foster Children. We are hoping to fill 10
baskets. It was suggested to go ahead and bring it in and you won’t have
to think about it later.
Christmas - Start bringing items for the Christmas basket
raffles. Only those who donate can buy raffle tickets. It was suggested
to go ahead and bring it in a plastic grocery sack with your name
attached and the approximate price of the item. Each person should bring
in items.
Old Business - It was brought up that all board members should be
notified of board meetings and they should be held when officers can
attend.
New Business - No new business. FYI David Jansen has free videos
and lots of information on his site. Carol Tamms brought in information
on a children’s protection organization.
Adjournment - the meeting was adjourned at 10:10 a.m.
